Visitors at the British Museum view ancient sculptures in the Parthenon Galleries. They are also referred to as The Elgin Marbles after Lord Elgin took them to London between 1801 and 1812. Tony Blair considered loaning them to Greece as an idea to boost Londons bid for the 2012 Olympics.<br />
One idea being proposed is Greece could organise rotating exhibitions of some of its most important artefacts to replace the Parthenon Marbles, were they to be returned to Athens, the Greek Culture minister said.
